The BIGGEST FAILURE on rockstars part was Max reflecting over Valerie Winterson death with "It was her or Mona, and I made a very bad call. Now as much I loved Max Payne 3, rockstar really failed with their interpretation of Mona Sax: Max dismisses(tries to shrug it off as "insanity" also known as impulsive & compulsive behavior induced by grief/trauma) this relationship and describes it as "I still hadn't forgiven myself for the Mona business, but I knew that was just grief, the insanity that comes with losing the life you had built." Now maybe this is just Max being imperfect and not appreciating what Mona did/meant for/to him which does make him more of a realistic character, but If Mona was a real character in Max Payne 3, Max would NEVER belittle Mona like he does, he would FALL IN LOVE WITH HER AGAIN and MOST of Max Payne 3 would be OBSOLETE as Max & Mona would start a life with each other & try to grow old with each other. Max Payne 3 should have been titled "Raul Passos: Max Payne Amores Protector". Even with the other timeline ending because of Mona, Max declares he's reborn which signifies his life begins anew and life feels active again.ĭid you FORGET about "omnia vincit amor" CLEARLY you didn't because of Raul Passos and Giovanna Taveres love story arc. AND on the HARDEST difficulty Max and Mona have their happy ending. She saves his life twice while risking her own. In Max Payne 2 Mona Sax is a key player and driving factor for Max's character development.
